the always talented Next Level Lacrosse Club (MD).
Jack Loving scores the game winner after a determined drive to cage
... and is the recipient of a team "dog pile."
Team play was highlighted by 5 assisted goals, stellar goalie and
defensive play, and lot's of hustle up and down the field.
An exciting opener and a fun day of lacrosse for both squads.

Dick's Sporting Goods Tournament of Champions - National Club
Lacrosse Championship
(2-4 January 2009,
Tampa, Florida)

In sunny Tampa, FL,
FuZe BLUE advanced to the Championship Bracket in the
Dick's Sporting Goods National Tournament of Champions
and had a blast competing in the National High School Club
Championship. The team finished 11th out of
the field of 27 qualifying teams after going 4-3.
Highlights included a great comeback win against Greene Turtles
in OT, a convincing showing against the #3 seed Connecticut
Seminoles, and a dominant performance against NorCal. The
first-class venue and elite international competition made for a special
capstone to the team's super season. For the year, BLUE went
30-10 and enjoyed a fun and successful '08 season.
For this group of men who've been together
a long time,
the tourney was a fun experience and a sweet reward for all
their years of hard work. For our 2009 YG players, all earned
offers to play at the collegiate level. And while some are
still weighing their options many have committed to play college
lacrosse (DI-DIII). For our many wonderful families
who have been with us for years and now move on with their sons,
thank you for making the FuZe experience a "family experience."
Bring on FuZe '09.

Big BLUE earned its invitation after winning the
2008 Aloha Summer Getaway Tournament where it went 7-0 and won
the HS-A Division. BLUE had a strong summer and fall and
actually qualified twice after it also went undefeated at the
National Fall Ball Recruiting Tournament in November. The team
and club were featured in
Inside Lacrosse Magazine (Nov Issue) and on the NDP website and
are honored to be a representative (along with Alexandria Travel) of
Northern Virginia lacrosse in this national high school club
championship. It's a special opportunity and for the players
and team it's a well earned reward for a terrific performance
throughout the 2008 summer and fall ... and a culminating point for
years worth of hard work on the part of players, coaches, and the
club.
Well done fellas!

equipment and gift cards donated and purchased by players
and parents of the FuZe SELECT Team and Herndon HS.
The teams met at the VMI Battle of Institute Hill tournament where
it was learned that there were team and player equipment needs.
Many thanks to Sue Miller, Bill Anderson, and the Scimeca family for
organizing this effort and the generosity of the SELECT team and
Herndon HS families for their contributions.
Note: The main focus of the BLax Lax organization is to improve the exposure of the game of lacrosse to the African American Community, with the ultimate goal to re-establish The Morgan State University Program.
